I am a professor of economics at the Norwegian Business School, where I teach econometrics and causal inference. Most of my research focuses on political economy, including work on how electoral institutions shape turnout and representation, how parties recruit, rank, and discipline politicians, and how democratic systems hold officeholders accountable. I also work in labor and health economics — currently on the health consequences of career advancement and the design of physician payment schemes. I maintain open-access datasets on elections, candidates, local government, and parliamentary debates.
